LAWN CARE
As well as regular mowing, your lawn needs a care package to stay lush, green and healthy. Fertilising, weed killing, over seeding, moss removal, scarification and aeration are all techniques that will give you the lawn you want.
AERATION
This lawn treatment allows the penetration of air, rain and nutrients into the soil by relieving the compaction of the soil. It improves bacterial activity in your lawn and helps to negate thatch. Aeration stimulates your lawn to root and increase the root depth which helps to shield your lawn from dry spells.
SCARIFYING AND RAKING
In spring the practice of raking your lawn is used to remove moss and break through thatch. Raking is much gentler than scarifying and so is less likely to damage your lawn.
Scarifying is done in the autumn to cut through thatch and results in a much firmer lawn by promoting new shoots to grow and thickening the turf.
FERTILISING
Mowing the lawn removes nutrients which need to be replaced. By not using a good quality fertiliser, the lawn will become thinner and allow weeds to grow. The fertilisers used depend on the time of year they are being applied.
HEDGE TRIMMING AND REMOVAL
Has your hedge has grown too big for its location? Perhaps you want it cutting back, or reducing to accommodate a fence? We can remove your hedge completely for whatever reason. We can also remove the stumps.
HEDGE REDUCTION
If your hedge has grown too big for its location but you don't want to get rid of it, we can reduce your hedge to whatever size you desire. Then with careful management we can keep it that size.
HEDGE PLANTING
No matter the reason why you want a hedge, we're the team to call . There are many species which are suitable for hedging, each with their own benefits.
